Free Software
Foundation files suit
against Cisco for GPL violations. The Free Software Foundation (FSF)
today announced that it has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit
against Cisco. The FSF's complaint alleges that in the course of
distributing various products under the Linksys brand Cisco has
violated the licenses of many programs on which the FSF holds
copyright, including GCC, binutils, and the GNU C Library. In doing
so, Cisco has denied its users their right to share and modify the
software. more... and

Amarok 2.0
released. The world of digital music management
has changed a great deal since the birth of Amarok four and a half

Tracking build
status with Pulse. Pulse is a build server that can
monitor your source repository and trigger a build and test cycle
every time somebody does a commit. With Pulse you will always know if
the most recent sources in your revision control system compile and
if they pass your unit and system tests. Better yet, Pulse allows you
to build and test your current working copy of checked-out source,
during a so-called Personal Build, so you can see if your code breaks
things before you commit your changes to the central repository.

Managing your
movie collection with
Griffith. For a long time, I recorded a basic
list of all the backups I made of my movie collection in a scruffy
notebook. In due time, I found that relying on a simple piece of
paper was wishful thinking. I then endured the laborious process of
migrating my list to a spreadsheet on my computer -- but that still
wasn't enough. Eventually I found Griffith, a movie collection
