Would be nicer to link to pages at the schools displaying all their iTunes podcast material. Many of these schools have multiple podcasts in iTunes. For example, Bowdoin has a full podcast web page linking to Athletics, Music and other pocasts.

      Hi,

This is a really comprehensive list. I started compiling a list of learning/research/education related links back in Sept. I’ll definitely add your site for my next update.

At the University of Oregon, we are building a site for streaming video & audio called the UO Channel. See http://media.uoregon.edu.

At this time, the content is mainly historical video and high-profile guest lectures. I anticipate more course content and download options in the future.

      Best wishes,

This appears to be just a funnel for the iTunes store

    11. DH C on January 21, 2007 10:32 am

A funnel to itunes? We’ve posted the rss feeds when available. Is there something more that you’d like us to do?

    12. mike on January 21, 2007 1:04 pm

Funnel for iTunes - darned it! Get more (ALL) of the shcols to ‘get with the program’ set up real RSS/ATOM feeds. iTunes isn’t the only game on the block! Let’s separate out the the “iTunes-casts” and have listings of open PodCasts.

Wow, there sure are a lot of complainers. It’s not like you even have a banner or anything. Screw all those people. I loved the site, and I’ve downloaded many podcasts off of it. Great work, guys! Thanks a lot!

There are some of us who podcast for our university classes without going through any formal university podcast website. My podcast, which relates to several classes I teach at Northern Arizona University, is found at:

      http://TravelGeography.info

A colleague in Victoria University in Melbourne, Australia does something similar at:

      http://travel.thepodcastnetwork.com/

And a new one that just started at the Dublin Institute of Technology at:

      http://www.clickcaster.com/letstalktourism1

I will post a link to this page on my blog at:

      http:/web20teach.com

One can find a lot of education podcasts links in a new site Learn On The Go - education & learning podcast directory - http://www.learn-on-the-go.com This site contains carefully selected educational and instructional podcasts covering wide variety of topics and aims to promote the use of audio and video podcasting learning materials for personal and professional development.

    18. Surendar Chandra on March 2, 2007 9:41 pm

Great site. Another addition; at the University of Notre Dame, we have Operating Systems (Spring 2006 - http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=121915201&s=143441 and Sprint 2007 - http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=212284892) and Multimedia Systems (Fall 2006 - http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=184462578) podcasts. Thanks

Is there a way to actually transform itunes links into feeds, or to import them some how without having to install the itunes software?
      Thanks in advance…

    20. bendrix on March 11, 2007 5:01 pm

I’m a wandering podcaster/portable media specialist in NYC - I noticed the outburst of educators back in 2005 when I was getting a ton of hits from Washington University, and Nebraska and Penn - I thought something was strange that all these students were watching and listening to my shows, but come to find out months later they were merely studying it. Very cool tactic indeed… now i’m studying them to see whats next :)))

      this list is awesome thanks

    21. David Brake on March 20, 2007 5:51 am

This should really be on a wiki so others can help keep it up to date. Meanwhile I would just add that the London School of Economics has a podcast feed http://www.lse.ac.uk/resources/podcasts/publicLecturesAndEvents.htm as does the U of Indiana School of Library and Information Science http://www.slis.indiana.edu/media/

‘ve created a website where I’m putting together all the historical podcasts and organizing them into a useful directory. I’m making pages for specific historical Figures , and putting on each page all of the relevant episodes for that character from the different podcasts. So for example if you searching for podcasts about Napoleon, you will find 10 different podcasts with around 35 episodes about him. Or there is a different page dedicated to podcasts about Alexander the Great.

[...] Podcasts and history Has the world embraced pod-casting yet? In a small way, if we listen to the radio we are used to hearing pod-casts. NPR is one notable pod-caster. How can history benefit from pod-casting? Many universities offer pod-casts. For instance, Oxford University has pod-casts of Medieval Literature. How does this benefit me. If I am interested int he subject, I now have access to a professors current research, thoughts, thesis, and can utilize this information in my own research. Or as a novice, I can take advantage of taking this mini course to educate myself. How brilliant is that? Anyone, with access to a computer can now access critical and important research, learning, and grow the mind. I wonder how long it will take for people to utilize this function to its potential. Considering some libraries are bone dry on most days, with little funding, even though they offer free books, magazines, Cd’s, DVDs, computer use, and access to pod-casts that anchor you to the world. Get on to the library. Browse the pod-casts out there that can inspire and lend to opening and expanding your field of knowing.
